Our Story

  1. 54 Capital FMCG Starts operation in Ethiopia

    54 Capital FMCG, a leading consumer goods company, has announced the launch of its operations in Ethiopia.

  2. Gulele Soap Detergent Factory

    In 2014 54 FMCG, the leading FMCG company acquired the Gullele soap factory, which is the home of personal care and home care products such as 555 and Aura.

  3. Health care food manufacturers, Astco Food Complex and Debre Birhan Natural Spring Water S.C

    54 Capital has announced the acquisition of Health care food manufacturers, a producer of edible oils and fats, Astco, a manufacturer of wheat flour and chef luca pasta products, and Debre Birhan Natural  Natural Spring Water S.C, a producer of Aqua safe a natural mineral Water.

  4. Etete Milk and Diary

    54 Capital, a private equity firm that invests in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) in Africa, has acquired Etete Milk and Dairy, a leading dairy producer in Ethiopia.

  5. New edible oil factory at kality

    HCFM was acquired by 54 FMCG in the year 2015. Following this strategic transaction, the company proceeded to bolster its operational footprint, unveiling an expanded production facility in the thriving Kality region in 2017. Today, HCFM stands tall as one of the most substantial edible oil manufacturers operating within the Ethiopian marketplace.

  6. ZAK Ethiopia Manufacturing & Trading PLC

    This venture was brought to new heights in 2020 with the inauguration of our ZAK facility. 54 FMCG has built the new ZAK Manufacturing plant and expand its Laundry Bar production capacity. The new facility has also diversified our product mix by introducing Aura beauty and anti-germ/antibacterial body soap, 555 liquid and detergent powder lines.

  7. Articraft Industries PLC at Dukem

    54 Capital a Conglomerate producing the most Popular Edible Oil “Tena Oil” has announced today a major expansion in its production plant at Dukem Town.

  8. Cultivating New Ground: SAMANU branches out into agriculture by partnering with farmers

    In 2023 “Ventured to Agriculture sector by working with farmers” to “cultivating New Ground: SAMANU branches out into agriculture by partnering with farmers”.

  9. SAMANU Export Began.

    In 2023, SAMANU launched its export business, driven by a commitment to share Ethiopia's finest raw materials and value-added processed products with global customers. The company's dedicated export division is now positioned to deliver the country's agricultural treasures to discerning international markets, further cementing SAMANU's reputation as a trusted provider of premium offerings on the world stage.

  10. 54 FMCG Rebranded to SAMANU

    54 FMCG announces its new corporate identity change to SAMANU. Samanu’s logo inspiration was taken from the source of life ‘Abay River’ and the Amharic word ሣ śā. The Logo design aims to reinforce Samanu's Ethiopian roots and highlights its strong commitment to growth and expansion as a leading Ethiopian manufacturer of high-quality consumer goods. Samanu is committed to embracing change and adapting to evolving customer needs and market trends.
